After several announcements, D’angelo finally returned in 2000 with his new album ‘Voodoo’. Hotly anticipated after the furious debut album ‘Brown Sugar’ from 1995, which achieved double platinum status in the USA with over 2 million copies sold. I just wanted to sit down and write some really good songs.’ The first single ‘Left & Right’, on which D’angelo features the two MCs Redman and Method Man, was released in advance on vinyl only. The track is an ingenious mix of hip-hop and groovy soul and impresses with its relaxed coolness. Voodoo’ also contains many other song gems, including numerous collaborations with Lauryn Hill, The Roots and DJ Premier, among others. D’Angelo’s groundbreaking album ‘Voodoo’ with the timeless songs ‘Untitled (How Does It Feel)’ and ‘Devil’s Pie’ will receive a special tribute in the form of exclusive limited edition designs this year to mark its 25th anniversary. In celebration of his 25th anniversary, this release also pays homage to the legacy of D’Angelo, who passed away earlier this year, and honors his birthday on February 11, a date that is now even more meaningful to fans and the music scene worldwide.
